Baggage Rules

The following are the baggage rules of Philippine Airlines.

Baggage allowance for international
flights between Korea and the Philippines

※ Free baggage allowance for passengers varies depending on the seat class.

※ Apart from free baggage allowances and prepaid baggage, up to 32KG is allowed for one piece of checked baggage for safety reason.
The baggage which exceeds the weight allowance is required to be packed separately.

※ For the Korea-Philippines routes, the checked baggage allowance for infants is 10KG.

Free Baggage Allowances and Charges for Additional Baggage

Size allowance and rules
for check in baggage

  • For checked-in baggage, the total of width+length+height must not exceed 158cm.
  • For the "Piece System" (Middle East / Americas), surfboards / wakeboards will automatically be considered as an excess baggage, regardless of the dimension (width + length + height).
    -If the dimension does not exceed 277 cm: 100% of the Excess Baggage Charge shall apply
    -If the dimension exceeds 277 cm: 200% of the Excess Baggage Charge shall apply (Not the "Weight System")

Checked-in Baggage

  • The passenger must record his/her personal information including name and address on a tag and attach it to the baggage before handing it over to the airline.
  • You cannot put cash, jewel, rare metal, silverware, negotiable bill, negotiable security, and identification or its sample into baggage that has already been checked in.
  • Medicine and doctor’s prescription must be carried by the passenger in the cabin.
  • Fragile items and perishable items may be placed into the checked-in baggage at the passenger’s own risk.
  • Baggage may have minor scratches, wear, dents, cracks, and stains during handling. In general, airline companies do not take any responsibility for worn or torn baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

  • Only one piece of baggage is allowed per passenger and the weight shall not exceed 7kg.
  • The sum of length, width and height shall not exceed 115cm.
  • Baggage exceeding 56cm in length, 36cm in width, and 23cm in height cannot by carried into the plane.
  • You may carry laptop computers, cellular phones, briefcases, cameras, baby food carrier you need during the trip, and a flat bag to carry coats or suits.

Charges for Excess BaggageIf the weight of the baggage exceeds the free baggage allowance, the following charges apply for each additional 1kg for flights leaving from Incheon or Busan

Prepaid BaggageIt can be purchased to Minimum of 5kgs, non-refundable weighs less than 5kg at the airport.

Please contact to Manila Call Center to purchase non-direct flight from Korea to the Philippines including domestic route or departing from Philippines to other international route ( even though the schedule contains direct flight from Korea to the Philippines )

Prepaid baggage fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

It is allowed with a total maximum limitation of 20kgs.

Operational restriction may limit the baggage allowance a passenger can purchase for safety reasons.

Special baggage such as sports equipment, pet animal, and carry-on baggage cannot be purchased as prepaid baggage.

Only one prepaid baggage purchase is allowed per person per sector, and additional purchase is not allowed.

Up to 32KG is allowed for one piece of checked baggage for safety reason. (required to be packed separately if exceeds the weight allowance)

Prepaid baggage is available until 24 hours prior to the departure date.

Checked-in Baggage

Guide to Handling of Sports EquipmentIncluded in the category of free baggage allowances, however, charges are applied when exceeding the permissible range

Equipment Type Remarks
Golf Equipment - 1 Set: Consist of one golf bag containing golf clubs and one pair of golf shoes
- Any sets of golf club equipment in excess of one will not be included in the free baggage allowance
- Equivalent of 6kg Excess Baggage Charge shall apply for the first after the free baggage allowance
- Succeeding sets, 100% of the Excess Baggage Charge shall apply
Snow Ski Equipment - 1 Set: Consist of one pair of snow skis, one pair of ski poles and one pair of ski boots.
- Any sets of snow ski equipment in excess of one will not be included in the free baggage allowance
- First set after the free baggage allowance, 33% of the Excess Baggage Charge shall apply
- Succeeding sets, 100% of the Excess Baggage Charge shall apply
Scuba Diving Equipment - All items must be secured in a sturdy container designed for shipping.
Scuba tanks and flares are not allowed.
- Spear guns must be unloaded with the spear packed separately.
Surfing Board Equipment Fin and paddle must be attached to the board,
and the entire equipment shall be placed in the surfing board bag
Bicycle Must be suitably packed: handlebars fixed sideways, tires deflated, lamps, mirrors and pedals removed
Fishing Equipment Its main part should be retractable and must be packed in a sturdy container

Baby Stroller

  • Baby strollers shall be placed in the cargo hold. These may be checked at the check-in counter or at the boarding gate before boarding.
  • A one fully collapsible stroller or infant's carrying basket or infant's car seat may be allowed carry-on/hand-carry subject to the following conditions:

    a) Size (Length+width+height) shall not exceed 45inch or 115cm.

    b) Maximum weight shall not exceed 7kg or 15lb.

    c) In excess of which shall be intercepted at the gate and shall be placed in the cargo hold.

  • Any checked baby stroller shall be claimed at the baggage carousel upon arrival at the destination station except for stations that allow delivery at aircraft.

If an animal is checked in as baggage

Apart from the free baggage allowance and rules for changes applied to exceeding weight, the weight of one piece of baggage is limited to 32kg to prevent safety
accidents of baggage handlers. Baggage exceeding airport facility or airplane facility may be rejected.

Cabin Baggage

  • A passenger can occupy a seat for securing valuable baggage such as religious items, musical instruments, etc.
  • Only one item per seat is allowed
  • Item must be properly packed to avoid possible injury to passengers/crew
  • Weight of the item should not exceed 75kg.
  • Height of the item must not exceed the height of the backrest at its highest position.
