Restricted Goods

The following are the rules of Philippine Airlines for restricted goods.

  • Electronic board (electric scooter) that operates on lithium batteries cannot be carried onto the aircraft or inside checked baggage from December 21, 2015.
  • Please note that anyone carrying restricted goods onto the aircraft will be subject to 2 to 5 years of imprisonment in accordance with Article 44 of the <Aviation Safety and Security Act>.
  • The following standards are applied to airports in the Republic of Korea and aircrafts leaving from or arriving in airports in the Americas. In airports overseas, the rules may vary according to the regulations of the country.
  • Check-in or carry-on of the following restricted goods is prohibited for passengers leaving from or arriving in airports in the Americas in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).

Fire extinguishers, dry ice, tear gas, pepper spray, etc.

Dry ice can be carried on with the approval of the airline company if packed safely to discharge carbon dioxide at ease , restricted to 2.5kg per person. Magnetic goods are also prohibited

Batteries
Non-rechargeable batteries – lithium exceeding 2 g, rechargeable batteries – exceeding 160WH , transportation goods running on lithium battery, batteries recalled for defects

Nunchucks, hand-to-hand combat weapons, police baton and cuffs, etc.
Tools
Axe, hammer, nail gun, saw, awl, drill / scissors of which the blade exceeds 6cm in length, screw driver, drill bits, wrench, spanner, pliers / prod, etc., small machines (Ex: electric saw), if cleaned thoroughly to eliminate smell or trace of grease
Household Tools
Fork, nail clipper, all kinds of umbrellas, potato peeler, bottle opener, cork screw, tweezers, nail scissors, needles, and drawing compass, and other sharp objects
Electric Wheelchair
Electric wheelchair with batteries attached.
Must obtain permission from airline company.

Cosmetics, dye, permanent agent, bath products, toothpaste, contact lens products, antiphlogistils, rubbing alcohol for medical use, medicine for internal use, ointment for external use, etc.

However, maximum of 100ml can be carried onto cabin in international flights, can be checked in up to 2kg (2l) per passenger.

However, each item shall not exceed 0.5Kg in weight and 0.5L in volume

Medical Equipment and Walking Aids
Portable electronic medical equipment such as automated external defibrillators and respirators, transplanted devices such as pacemakers, sticks, crutches, wheelchair, baby carriage, etc.
Rescue Equipment
Small oxygen tank (5kg or less), a pair of cylinders included in the lifejacket (may also include a pair of extra cylinders), rescue backpack for avalanches (1 for each passenger)

However, must be packed in compliance with safety standards and obtain approval from the airline company. For flights leaving from or arriving in the Americas, transportation of oxygen tanks is restricted.

24 ~ 70% alcohol beverage (Less than 5l per person – If checked-in.)

Standards for Liquid Goods
Allowed in the Cabin
on International Flights

The following items including liquid, spray, and gel are strictly forbidden in the cabin.
Passengers using international aircrafts must check whether their articles meet the standards in advance.

  • Liquids such as water, beverage, food, and cosmetics, spray, and gel (or cream) must be placed in a 100ml or smaller container, and each passenger is allowed to carry them on in a transparent 1l zipper bag
  • For baby food and medicine, only the quantity required during the trip can be carried on

    For medical supplies, however, the passenger must present the documentary evidence such as prescription to the security officer
